Living English Classes

The call of Christ to serve and help others in the community is the primary driving force for the Living English Classes (LEC) classes. These free classes are for anyone in the community who feel they would like to improve their English language skills and meet others in a happy and friendly environment. We hope the classes will help to reduce the marginalisation which comes from being cut off through not understanding the language and we also learn so much about other cultures.

Classes run in one 2 hour session per week (Thursdays; 12.45 p.m. – 2.45 p.m.) during School Terms in the Church Hall (Russell Street), and the format includes an introductory full group time plus small group classes catering for a range of proficiencies in English, together with a break for afternoon tea. Six to seven skilled and keen volunteers provide teaching each session covering speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

Transport is provided to the Church Hall in Corrimal from the free bus stop in Fairy Meadow (near Aldi) and return, as required. Everyone is most welcome. For information please phone John on 4284 4033.
